Your child’s early experiences at the dentist are very important in laying the foundation for lifetime dental health. We can introduce your child to dentistry, making their early experiences pleasant, easy and fun. Their very first visit may be just for a ride in the chair and some discussion about oral hygiene. For children between the ages of 1 and 5, a healthy diet and the habit of brushing are extremely important.
- Check ups, cleaning and fluoride treatment
- Fissure sealants, fillings and simple extractions
- Custom mouthguards
We provide gap free preventative dental treatment for children under 15 years of age. That means if you have private health insurance, there will be no out of pocket cost for your child’s six monthly check up, cleaning and fluoride treatment.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) began in 2014 and provides benefits for basic dental treatment for eligible children aged 2 to 17 years old. The CDBS is funded by Medicare and eligibility is means tested, including receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment. The CDBS provides up to $1000 in benefits per child for dental services over a two year period.
At Dentistry for Life we bulk bill the CDBS directly through Medicare so there are no out of pocket costs to you. Your child’s eligibility can be checked with Medicare on 132 011.
